Borderpoint Films was established by filmmakers Paul Cooke and Dominic Rees-Roberts to create promotional films, branded content, music promos, documentaries and short films
Paul and Dom formed a creative partnership after meeting at Imperial College London whilst studying Science Media Production. They have over 20 years of production experience between them, and their science backgrounds and expertise in documentary film-making gives them a unique voice with which to tell compelling, visually-arresting stories.
Dom has carved out a niche telling gripping stories with emotional clout. He has series produced, produced and directed films including Killer Cops (CBS Reality), What on Earth (Science), Strange Evidence (Science) and Building the Ultimate (Channel 5).
Dom has a BSc in Biochemistry and PhD in Parasitology. He started working in factual television at the BBC's Science Department. His varied work has seen highlights including filming at Jim Carey’s house in LA, blowing up WW2 munitions in Poland and following the transport of a multi-million dollar satellite across the globe on one of the world’s largest cargo planes.
His passion for story telling has led him to apply his skills and experience in factual filmmaking to scripted drama.
Paul has spent over a decade making broadcast documentaries, music videos, short films, and branded content for networks and outlets including the BBC, National Geographic, Discovery, Channel 4, Omeleto, and Channel 5.
Paul is London-based, but has shot on location in the USA, Tanzania, Russia, Israel, Mongolia, Micronesia, Australia and many other countries - everywhere from Burbank studios to tropical jungles, desert oases to the frozen tundra.
He once drank a mind-altering substance with the king of a small Pacific island to gain filming access to a haunted city.
